Here is what we will be doing together in 4.2 this week!
Math: We will start a new unit on Patterns (chapter 7). Our world is full of patterns, both non-numerical and numerical.
Reading: Our reading focus this week is Perspective. As a class, we have been reading different picture books with a variety of perspectives held by the characters. Students will be doing their Daily 5 rotations as they compare and contrast the different perspectives in their novels. ... and we will begin a new read-aloud book!!
Social Studies: We have ended our unit on the American Revolution, and now we will dive into our Country Projects! Students are excited and have been asking me when we will start. More information about this will be sent home in the 2/8 Friday Folders.
Writing: We will be doing some writing activities to kick-start the country research project.
Science: We have begun a new Focus Unit on Soils, Rocks, and Landforms! On Tuesday, we will be conducting Investigation 1.2 about Physical Weathering. "Students begin to explore how large masses of rock break into smaller pieces. They will tumble rocks and freeze water to see how these two types of physical weathering can break rocks" (FOSS).

Bible: We have been going through 1 Samuel of the Bible, and we are learning about King David this week.
